Google Gemini is Google’s next‑generation multimodal AI assistant and large language model (LLM), designed to interact via text, voice, images, audio, and even code. It builds on Google’s legacy models like LaMDA and PaLM, and aims to be deeply integrated across Google’s ecosystem, including Search, Gmail, Docs, Workspace, Android, and other apps, so that users can ask complex questions, summarize documents, generate creative work, or get help from the files and apps they already use.
Gemini offers both free and premium plans. The premium tiers (e.g. Gemini Advanced, Google AI Pro / Ultra) give access to more powerful models like Gemini 2.5 Pro for tasks requiring higher reasoning or dealing with large contexts (very long documents or code bases), more access to features such as image & video generation, better performance, and tighter integrations, for example composing or helping with your work across Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Maps etc.
